Now in its 37th season, SSC’s Flute Symphony attracts flutists from across Massachusetts to rehearse and perform some of the most spectacular flute symphony repertoire ever written. The program is designed for all ages and abilities. This year’s theme is Music from Around the World.
Schedule
Dress rehearsal is on Monday, July 27 & final Concert on Wednesday, July 29
Ensembles
New Artist: 6-7:30 pm (elementary students) - for players with 6 months to 2 years experience
Artist: 6-8 pm (middle school students) - for intermediate students, ages 12-14
Advanced Artist: 7:30-9:30 pm (high school students to adults) - for advanced students, ages 14-adult
Solo Opportunity
Registered Artists & Advanced Artists between the ages of 12 and 22 may audition for an opportunity to play a solo at the final concert. Prepare a piece of your choice (less than five minutes.) Tryouts are June 17 during the first rehearsal. Please keep the Music from Around the World theme in mind when choosing your selection.
