Dr. Andrew C.Y. Chen, piano

A native of Taiwan, at the age of 17 Andrew performed in The Metropolitan Hall in Taipei as the winner of Taipei City Young Artist Concerto Competition, since then he has performed widely throughout the United States, France, Italy, and Taiwan. He earned his Bachelor of Music degree from the Oberlin Conservatory, Master of Music degree from University of Houston, and Doctorate degree from University of Washington. Andrew was fortunate to study with Monique Duphil, Nancy Weems, and Craig Sheppard. He also holds a summer diploma from the American Conservatory at Fontainebleau, France. From 2015-18 Andrew served as collaborative pianist at Duxbury Music Festival, MA. Upon completion of his studies in the United States, Andrew was appointed to the piano faculty at Soochow University and Fu Jen Catholic University in Taipei. His first solo album “Dances and Fantasies” is now available on CD and for streaming.
